Benefits Of A Simple Stretching Routine


In today’s world, everybody is busy and rushing about doing something extremely important and urgent. We almost have no time to enjoy our lives anymore. We find ourselves, running, running, running all the time – to complete our education, to get a job, to marry, to start a family, to support a family, to make a career, to buy a car, to buy a house and so on. We move from one target to another without realizing when our lives have passed us by and we are middle aged and creaky at the joints and old-age pains have crept up on us.

Many people conceive exercise as a strenuous workout that needs special equipment, a nutritionist, a gym manager and a bodybuilding expert. The image conjured usually deters the common person from starting it, though everybody knows they need some physical exercise.

The good news is that exercises need not be as cumbersome as conceived here. You can start with simple stretching routines that would not take more than 2-3 minutes of your time, and it would be able to give you excellent results too!

The first thing you need to learn from a stretching routine is that if you want it work for you it has to be part of your daily routine, just as much as your brushing of the teeth and combing your hair is part of your routine. Unless you plan to incorporate it this way, you might as well drop the idea of taking up a stretching routine because it will not do you any good.

There is a major difference between exercises and stretching exercises. Exercises are what make a workout for building strength and muscle mass, while stretching exercise is the preliminary warming up session meant to improve flexibility of the muscles, joints, etc. As you will find out from your stretching routines, these are very light movements that target all muscles in the body and loosen them up so they will not cramp when you exercise.

This is why almost everyone can start a stretching routine and everyone can adopt stretching exercises into their daily routines without any trouble at all. The benefits that can accrue from this minimum 2-3 minute workout are hard to be believed. You will find yourself full of renewed vigor throughout the day; your stamina will gradually increase and you will also find that you are happier.

A stretching routine would help you to gain flexibility of your joints gradually and you will also find it easier to walk longer, climb stairs easier, and experience less back pain. Overall, the introduction of a 2-3 minutes of stretching exercise routine can change your life for the better. Remember, though, it has to be part of your daily routine if you want it to work for you.
