Stretching Chair – How To Use It To Improve Your Stretch

Stretching is a routine where you prepare your body and mind for the activity, which is usually an exercise routine but sometimes it can be moving furniture or anything else that is heavy and will require extra muscle power.

Here you will find out how a stretching chair can improve and help you improve your daily performance. Stretching chair is a great tool for those with limited capabilities to move for example, those who are overweight or have some medical condition that does not allow them free movement, as you sit and stretch and the chair balances your body and helps out considerably.

However, stretching chair is also used by those who practice exercises such as yoga and Pilates, which involves extensive stretching as part of the exercise itself and a stretching chair can help you achieve some very hard stretching positions that otherwise you will not be able to achieve.

When you consider what type of chairs that can be used as a stretching chair, it must be stable and be able to hold your weight with ease and therefore you cannot use a plastic chair however, a wooden one would go perfectly. Ensure that the base is not too wide as some stretching may require you to face the backrest while sliding the legs on each side and if the base is too wide you can strain a muscle.

Stretching is usually performed in order to prepare your body for an exercise routine or for some other extensive activity however, if you perform it wrong it can be as harmful as doing an exercise routine without stretching because you are basically dealing with muscle that are in a relaxed state and stretching them the wrong way can cause a strain or sprain.

Learn the right way to stretch before every activity from a qualified instructor, books and DVDs, which will also tell you what is and what is not applicable to your body weight and height as that too plays a big role in performing stretching right.

Stretching after exercising is important too because then you let your muscles get back to relaxing mode; ending an exercise abruptly can be as damaging to your muscles as starting it abruptly; therefore, in order to get the best results for your body you need to indulge in a few minutes of stretching before and after the exercise routine itself.
